I, Mrs. Josephine Watiri Michuki and the entire immediate and extended family of the late Hon. John Njoroge Michuki, EGH, M.P., wish to sincerely thank the many Kenyans and friends who shared in our sorrow at his passing on, while helping us to celebrate his life.

As a family we were humbled and comforted by the thousands of tributes through letters, social media, text messages, donations and visits from Kenyans and non-Kenyans of all walks of life. Kindly accept our gratitude as we may not have been able to thank each and every one of you personally.

The Kenyan Government honoured the Late Hon. John Njoroge Michuki with an official funeral and we wish to offer our heartfelt gratitude and thanks to His Excellency Hon. Mwai Kibaki, President of the Republic of Kenya, who visited with us and offered us words of great comfort.

The Entire Cabinet and the National Assembly took time to visit and console us and we thank the Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka, Vice President of the Republic of Kenya, The Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, E.G.H., M.P. and the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Kenneth Marende, E.G.H., for so ably leading their cabinet colleagues and fellow members of parliament in their kind words of comfort and celebration.

The Right Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, E.G.H., M.P., Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya spearheaded and announced remembrance of our Late John Michuki in the form of a government/private-sector driven tree-planting exercise. For this great honour, we thank you.

A special mention of thanks and gratitude to Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta, E.G.H., M.P. His support, continuous presence and assistance throughout this period cannot be measured in words. We are truly grateful. We also thank him for ably co-chairing the funeral committee and representing the government in all matters.

We also wish to thank members of the funeral committee which was co-chaired by Hon. Mutahi Kagwe E.G.H., representing the Michuki family, for their tireless and selfless commitment to ensuring that Hon. John Michuki indeed received a hero's send-off.

Our friends and family members played a special role with their constant presence, calls, assistance, solace and helping us celebrate the life of one of their own. We know we held up because of you.

Special thanks to Dr. Eva Njenga, his long term physician and Dr. Daniel Githegi and his team of able doctors at the Aga Khan University Hospital for their invaluable efforts in taking care of Hon. Michuki during the last week of his life on earth. In England we wish to thank Professor Mirran and Dr. Ali, and all the nurses and orderlies of the Charring Cross Hospital.

To the people of Kangema, our heartfelt appreciation for the support and love given time and time again to the Late Hon. John Njoroge Michuki. He served Kangema as M.P. with pride for a period of over 20 years. He loved the people of his home area, and we know he considered it an honour and a joy to partner with you in developing this great constituency.

Various Churches visited us during this period and we wish to thank the Consolata Shrine for hosting the requiem mass, ACK Church, Nairobi Chapel, Ridgeways Baptist, Homecare Fellowship, P.C.E.A. Church and the Blessed Church of our Lady, Ridgeways for conducting services.

We are thankful to our Great and Merciful God for granting Hon. John Njoroge Michuki the life he had on earth.
